There is so little historical fiction about Jamaica, or the Caribbean at large, and what little there is tends to be rubbish.  So, I've decided to try my hand at it...I hope I've done an okay job.

As a new member of the group I'm trying not to "binge" attend the board but there are women who love housework and women who don't and as one of the latter ... well anything to procrastinate so I've come and  had a peek on the board this morning although I am trying to keep my visits restricted  to a sensible level.  Just to wish you luck in your venture - those days were very brutal I know; not that I'm an expert.  My late Mum (who came from Wales - though she was also half Irish) said that in her family they used to tell tales about the pirate, Morgan Dbu (sp??) packing a traitor into a barrel, sticking the barrel though with swords and then towing it along behind the boat ...  my family were not related to Black Morgan though, as far as I know.  Once again, I wish you much luck with your book.
