Coincidentally saw a document about pyramids in the Sudan and about Meroë.
I wasn't aware of that until now.
After some research found this:

Kind regards, Paul.

Dangerous ground, Paul. It is used by some of the "Black Egyptian" theorists to draw some highly debatable conclusions (though they refuse actually to engage in debate on the subject).

Yes, I know Gil.

On the BBC boards in the time taken part in endlesss discussions about the Black Athena, the black Pharao and all that...especially from the Afro-American corner...even worser than "our" bible discussions...

But reading the texts overhere I have no problem with the normal investigation of Egypt including Egypt ruled for some 200 years from the nowadays Sudan...as you read about the several invasions from the North and the North-East...the Assyrians, the Greeks, the Semitic people in general...all things quite normal...only some difference perhaps in the Egyptian kind of ornaments and perhaps another colour of the people and physionomy...so what...? Wink

Kind regards from Paul.

Well, Neil McGregor has concluded in his analysis of artifacts from the 25th dynasty that pharaohs such as Piye and Taharka did indeed have "black" or sub-Saharan features. I don't see anything wrong with his conclusions.

Unfortunately, a lot of modern-day white supremacists are still in denial that it's possible for black pharaohs to have ruled Egypt at a time when Brits were living in caves....

I think a lot of modern-day white supremacists will be in denial about anything that puts people with a darker skin in a favourable light, shivfan. Hasn't it been held that the Nubians ruled Egypt at one point and they are believed to have been dark-skinned.

Off-topic trivial fact, the actress Cush Jumbo gets her first name from the Kingdom of Cush only with a C not a K.

Yes, I wonder how the kippers and suchlike have taken the revelation that Cheddar Man (unlike his living descendant) was dark-skinned. Pushed the heritage of "black British" back about 10,000 years. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5364983/Retired-history-teacher-believes-looks-like-Cheddar-Man.html
