I some days I will watch "La reine garçon". I hope it will be the original film with French subtitles and not as usual the French dubbed version...

And from the summary I learned that it concerns "Christina, Queen of Sweden"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christina,_Queen_of_Sweden

Behaving as a boy, but what a woman, and what a life...it reads as a novel...

https://www.historytoday.com/archive/months-past/abdication-queen-christina-sweden

Christina of Sweden had a blazing vitality, intelligence and wit that made her the wonder of Europe.

Christina never married and had no children. A crack shot and as tough as a plank, she loved riding and hunting, swore like a trooper, enjoyed dirty jokes and despised things feminine. In 1651 when she first announced her intention to abdicate in favour of her cousin and heir, Charles Gustavus, she gave out that a man was needed to rule the country and lead the army, that she desperately needed a rest and that there were other reasons she would not go into. One of them turned out to be that she was determined not to marry, which her leading subjects did not consider an adequate excuse. What she did not reveal, as they brought pressure on her to remain on the throne, was that she had been secretly converted to Roman Catholicism, which in Lutheran Sweden was banned.

And of course there is the film: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1254322/

But as I see it from the trailer...saw already the bedscenes...and if you don't pay attention you get on a pornochannel...no full film available as usual nowadays or you have to subscribe and perhaps pay...

But what a different approach in 1933 with Greta Garbo...I found the full film in  Italian

dubbed version...

LiR, about the difference between 1933 and 2015...?
Perhaps I have another perception of time as the other contributors of this board. For me 1933 is still recent, nearing the eigthies now...I wonder what Priscilla and Dirk Marinus find about that feeling or perception?
And yes in some thirteen years 1933 will be a "century"... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes...

Paul.
