Nature versus nurture again. Empty
PostSubject: Nature versus nurture again.   Nature versus nurture again. EmptyFri 16 Mar 2018, 22:13

I discussed it once in a thread with Temperance and I think she is still an ietsie pietsie (nordmann I think said once that it came from Hungarian)i nterested...
About the many times ugly debate an introduction:

And now I saw a documentary of the Danish Lone Frank with refreshing points of view...

Are we predestinated to undergo our genetic tendencies...Lone Frank says no...
See at the end of the second interview:

I have the documentary in French from Arte, but I only found this link where you can have subtitles in foreign languages as English: click on the gerwheel: automatic French but then by clicking on subtitleing you have the choice: automatic translating  and then you click on English

I will let you first absorb all the many times difficult stuff, to later start a discussion...if someone is interested Wink ...Temperance? Many times "redder in nood" they translate it in my dictionary in a "sobre" "life-saver"...what with "saving angel in the distress"?

Kind regards from Paul.

As I said the Danish Lone Frank has made a queste around the world to see how her heritance had shaped some wiring in her brain that genetically pushed to some behaviour as depression and ruminating about certain events that for other persons (called in the documentary "warriors" are just a fast passing event that they the next second are already forgotten...and yes there are substances in the human genome (as she found out) that influence your psychological behaviour...as something you are predestinated to act as you act...but she found also out during her queste that this predestination can be altered by circumstances especially in the forming years of the childhood...and also as she learned you can act on these genetical inclinations, especially once you know them...therefore she find it interesting to look at your own genome to see where your special inclinations lie...and then you can act upon them...and the good news is that after a time your brain is altered...

I had one of my bosses, who had the genetical type I think of Lone Frank...and in such a demanding environment of a factory every psychological track is seen by the whole community...at the end he went to a psychiatric...
He told me about the lessons he had learned...as the narration of a man, who was walking to a meeting, and thinking about this meeting and the behaviour of his opponents, went more and more angry...finding always more insults from these opponents...getting nearly when he arrived to the stage of collapse...and then he met the partners and all developped smootly...
Thinking about that story, I suppose I have also something of the Lone Frank situation, but instead of about the work as my boss, it was more about personal property and occasions (my work sorry that was something I was paid for and I did my best but when something happened it was for the factory and not for me Wink  Embarassed )
But during my life and also by the examples of my boss and the factory I have learned when I am in "that" mood again to speak with my self (as I suppose Lone Frank also do) and argue with myself as I recognize the situations from the past to become happy again. And yes during the years it becomes easier and easier to come to happiness again. It also helps when one has not to stay idle and can act by having something to do.

Some of the professors that Lone Frank met during her queste:
