......the ghostly radio station that no one claims to run.

Having the call sign MDZhB and broadcasting on 4625kHz it is a bit of a mystery radio station but seems to be Russian. All it broadcasts is a peculiar tone which is sometimes joined by a second tone.
It was first noticed broadcasting in the early 1980's.
Some intelligence agencies have a tendency to call it the "Dead Hand" signal explaining it sends the two tones to Russian submarines and air bases BUT ......if the tones would stop it indicates a nuclear attack by enemy forces and a nuclear war will commence.
    MAYBE TRUE --- MAYBE FICTION.
Another name given to this radio station is " Dead Switch" to fire Russia's missiles.
However as a matter of interest and suddenly out of the blue on March 18,2014 less than 24 hours after Crimea voted to join the Russian Federation a human voice came on air reading out:
 
 " T.E.R.R.A.K.O.T.A. Mikhail Dimitri Zhenya Boris (which is the station's callsign MDZhB).

  Could the above station have been Russia's answer to:
 
    A Cyprus based radio station : "the Lincoln Poacher " which operated from the 1970's to early 2008 and on which       an English speaking woman's voice used to read out groups of 5 numbers and 5 letters on a regular basis.
