Your husband is about a year younger than me then, Caro. His views sound measured. I've mentioned before I think that I saw the late Queen Elizabeth II's coronation on the TV of a friend of my mother's. No news outlets have sought my views though.

I was nearly two at the time of the 1953 coronation and so my memory of it is a bit vague.  As schoolchildren we were later taken to the cinema to see a film of it which I found boring.
