I haven't read it yet, Isaac.  I'm stuck in hospital currently so a captive audience.  You probably know we don't have a written constitution in the UK though I haven’t  checked up about the Scots legal system which is different.  I don't mind reading your article and will report back later though I don't know if it will be today.

Your article puts forward some interesting points, Isaac but I'm not sure I agree 100%.  There isn't a written constitution per se in the UK.  I'll agree that some Medieval Guilds had rights to a certain extent, and some of the cities especially London.  The villeins and serfs weren't awfully well off and after the English peasants' revolt the King reneged on his promises and many people who had partaken were executed
  The "first past the post" system of electing Members of Parliament may have its limitations.  Neverthess I'm glad as less I'm glad that as a woman I was born after the 1928 Representation of the People Act when women over the age of 21 were granted the right to vote.

I have argued, in two separate works that voting and representation are looses of self governance and that woman especially suffered from women's rights to vote! Which is why 90% chose not to engage in it for decades after.
