Harvard University, Boston's Museum of Fine Arts and the software firm Dassault have made available online this interactive tour of the Giza Plateau. You need a pretty good internet connection and probably to install some extra video drivers before you can use it but it's worth the effort if you can access it.
The project is based pretty much on the extensive pictorial record from George Andrew Reisner's research in the early to mid 20th century. Brings out the Indiana Jones in one ....

But it couldn't then include the Golden Arches so can't possibly replicate the experience today! However, I'll download the necessary later and have a look.

Sorry - should have emphasised that "pretty much" does not mean entirely. The site is up to date in that respect.
