Were the attacks by the Sea Peoples on Ancient Egypt during the Late Bronze Age related to Homer's Trojan war? Were the people known to the Egyptians as the Peleset the same as the Biblical Philistines?

Weren't the Sea People also known as the Shardana? I think I read that in one of Velikovsky's books.

He thought that perhaps this was a corruption of Sardinians i.e. sea-faring warriors from pre-historic Sardinia.
