Or was Lee Harvey Oswald even involved in the shooting? A 'Patsy' indeed, as he always stated?

September 1963 was during the global Cold War with the now-defunct USSR (most recently coming to the brink of Nuclear War over Cuba), and at a time when the Kennedy's (especially Robert) had vowed to destroy the Mafia's power and curtail that of their own Armed forces Generals and Intelligence chiefs.

So, who was most likely to benefit from this highest profile of killings, that tragic day? And what of the [in]accuracy of the findings of the Warren Commission (which denied conspiracy) and the 1977 House Committee investigation into Assassinations, which found that there was almost certainly a conspiracy?

I've always felt that JFK was put in by the Mafia, and removed by the Mafia.
The Mafia were out to stop Bobby Kennedy's stand against them, and the Mafia often struck against a near relative of the person they wanted to stop.

Oswald was just there with his rifle to deflect any initial enquiries away from other persons/groups, whilst they covered their tracks. Oswald's killer had links with the Mafia!

Channel 5 had a documentary last night about the JFK assassination, the conclusion that was reached was quite startling.

While there is no dispute that three rounds were fired, the programme suggested that only two of these fired by Oswald, the first was a miss, though a ricochet may have hit Kennedy, the second was a hit, going through Kennedy's neck and on to hit Governor Connolly. Because three cartridge cases were found in Oswald's sniper perch, it was always assumed that Oswald fired a third shot. The third of Oswald's casings, however, was deformed, and was not a live round, rather a "plug" that Oswald used in his rifle.
The third shot, was instead an accidental round fired a Secret Service agent armed with an AR-15 rifle. It must been a pure fluke that it hit the President, it could just as easily hit Jackie or a bystander, and it was to cover up that one of their own had fired the fatal shot, that the Secret Service went to the lengths they did to conceal and distort evidence.
