| So what would you gift an historical newborn that might be (or not) for their life's journey? In no particular order and in haste, I'd give the captain of the Marie Celeste cabin cctv, Kaiser Bill, the Balkans - gift wrapped with no return option and perhaps a permanent parking place for Richard 111 in any car park of his choice - north of the Wash. Now I shall it give the notion more thought. Now give of your wisdom oh great posting magi...... I assume there are 3 or so of us left? |

Safety shoes for Jean-Baptiste Lully. |

An electric razor and a big bottle of after-shave. |

| It's the thought that counts - so maybe, yes, a rather small packet of Rennies for Alexander the 'Great.' Even a large tin of arsenic free emulsion for Napoleon? |

Several extremely thick snoods for Marie Antoinette? |

| I'd give a calendar to the Magi themselves. They were either great astronomers or great astrologers or great mathematicians - but not all three. There are supposed to be 12 days of Christmas and yet they managed to arrive on the 13th day - i.e. late. |

Be fair, Vizzer - they were obviously working on the Julian calendar, where Christmas is Jan 6th (as in Orthodox churches to this day). |
