When I'm pottering about I sometimes like to have a podcast on in the background.  I wondered if anybody had any suggestions for such podcasts which are worth a listen?  I've been listening to Nobleblood and Clandestime.  Clandestime is related to the depiction of spying in the media though of course there is reference to historic matters.  Nobleblood refers to the history of certain nobles as its name suggests.  I listened to an episode about Erik XIV who went insane which of course is not new but it was previously unknown to me.  I still have some episodes to listen to but of course they won't last forever which is why I'm asking if anyone has any relevant suggestions.

During lockdown I listened to most of these, the 'Fall of Civilisations' podcasts by Paul Cooper:

1. Roman Britain - The work of giants crumbled

2. The Bronze Age Collapse - Mediterranean apocalypse

3. The Mayans - Ruins among the trees

4. The Greenland Vikings - Land of the midnight sun

5. The Khmer empire - Fall of the god kings

He's now done about 15 of them, each about an hour long (and as he's English his accent and pronunciation are not annoying).

Thanks MM.  I realised that I didn't mention before that the Erik XIV I referred to was at one time the king of Sweden.

Erik as he grew older unfortunately became increasingly paranoid and ultimately was as mad as a box of frogs. Although to be fair to him, while he believed everyone, including his own family, were all out to kill him ... actually his family were indeed plotting to get rid of him (and in that they eventually succeeded).

So ultimately Elizabeth I, and England, probably dodged yet another bullet there.
